Posterboy takes his unbeaten win to 11-0-0 at BAMMA 8

December 15th, 2011

Jimi “Poster Boy” Manuwa, showed no sign of nerves as he made his promotional debut with BAMMA, stopping experienced Frenchman Antony “Wild Thing” Rea

Manuwa stalked his opponent in the opening exchanges and soon found his range, landing some punishing shots before opening up in the final moments of the round, landing a spectacular spinning backfist.

The undefeated Brit then landed a huge head kick that rocked the Frenchman, who retired on his stool at the end of the opening round.

The challenge for Manuwa is to keep progressing and impressing in his quest to move into the UFC as a bona-fide contender, while for BAMMA the challenge is to give their new signing the sort of opposition he needs to progress and build his reputation internationally.

[R1.] Manuwa comes out and catches Chapman with a jab, Chapman looks for the takedown straight away and forces Jimi up against the cage. Chapman is working hard to take the fight to the floor but Jimi is defending it very well. Jimi reverses and Nick is now against the cage, Jimi starts hitting Nick with big knees  to the body, leg but a majority catch Nick right on his head, (I was rapidly trying to note down where the knees were landing and it went something like, body, head, head, head, leg, body, head, head, head) this opened up a massive cut on Chapman’s forehead that left Grant Waterman little option but to call the bout at 2:14 of the first round.

And still your Cage Rage UK Light Heavyweight Champion and moving to a perfect 10-0, Jimi “The Posterboy” Manuwa.
